Jun Kaneko, Japanese-born ceramicist and sculptor, designed VO’s upcoming production of Madama Butterfly. When invited to take his first foray into set design, he immersed himself in opera and, after a year of research, began his work in creating a stunning production. A perfect mix of primary colours, custom textiles and stunning projections, the bold sets and costumes are a fresh take on a Puccini classic.
