Musings on Stargate Universe

I have seen only the first five episodes of the new Stargate Series entitled Stargate Universe, but so far I like what I see. It took me some time to warm up to Stargate Atlantis, but in the end I am a big fan of that show and its characters. In this new series, the characters are even less defined and are being revealed very slowly as the show progresses. Even the lead scientist, Dr. Rush, is a very odd character and I am left wondering if he is good or has less than noble motives, which I find interesting in and of itself. Another thing I like about the characters aboard the Ancient spacecraft Destiny, is that not all of them were meant to be there. An emergency occured forcing all on the military base to enter a wormhole to the ship Destiny and thus we have this odd combination of characters, some trained for such a mission and others absolutely not ready for such a journey. I have high hopes for this show and can´t wait to see if it keeps being as interesting as it has been so far. I like that it is quiet, lots of dialogue, and logic with a mix of chance thrown in to solve problems.
