Wednesday Evening at Sunset
Looking west towards the Hudson from our apartment the sinking sun is reflected in the windows.
A little later the whole sky turned an astounding scarlet -------I have not fiddled with the color in the photo.
Robert said that the sky looked a lot like a very red sea.

The Little Things
And sometimes, it's just the little details of home, that make life prettier, make tasks easier, and make everything just that much better.
I got to thinking about this as I was doing some overly-optimistic -Pre-Pre-Spring Cleaning, and I caught sight of the pink glassware in the dish drain...
The same went for the Pyrex, now residing prominently in my open cabinets...
You have vintage containers which do the job today, as well as they ever did, yet add an unexpected burst of color to an otherwise boring refrigerator...
And you have moments of silliness, where a whimsical cherub chotchkie gets plopped into a bowl as a joke, yet it never ceases to make you smile...

Saturday: Shadows, Squares and Colors
What a hideous old radiator. What messy scraps of paper on it.
The morning light makes it tolerable.
Isabel and I take pictures of the best recent piece
of public art in New York. So many squares.
Later we go to a notions shop in my least favorite part of town.
The ribbons made me want to turn into
the sort of person who does crafts all the time.
I love this color and this one, and what about that one?
Such goggle-eyed greed.
For lots of other ShadowShots go here.

Friday Windows and Reflections
Peonies at Union Square. Yum.
I cannot think why I didn't buy them.
A very shiny untasteful window display at a clairvoyant's on 20th Street.
What's this with clairvoyants anyway?
Note the reflection of the psychic traffic cone....
In keeping with the clairvoyant theme, this window
Between 5th and 6th Avenues.
Almost chartreuse.

A Rather Chartreuse Day
This metallic model serves for all seasons on 9th Avenue.
She is wildly photogenic.
The camera delights in glitter and reflections
and that dreadful, lovely color chartreuse.
Time to repaint the park railings.
A seven person job.
23rd Street.

Details/Rajasthan/India
The textures and bright colors remind me in some ways of Morocco.
Rather a change from austere New York.
Subtle shabby-chic...
Such an unusual color combination.
