In 1984's Arthurian fantasy Sword of the Valiant: The Legend of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Sean Connery starred as the mythological 'Green Knight' and Miles O'Keeffe played 'Sir Gawain'.

These suits of Medieval armour created by master armourer Terry English, alongside Costume Designer Shuna Harwood, were photographed on display at the London Film Museum on January 25, 2011.

Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides movie costume and prop exhibit...

In addition to the amazing Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives exhibit, the latest installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise also had this separate costume and prop showcase on the ground floor of Disney's D23 Expo on August 19, 2011.

Included in the collection of Penny Rose's costume designs from On Stranger Tides was Johnny Depp's latest 'Captain Jack Sparrow' eclectic ensemble.

Also featured was the costume Ian McShane wore in the movie to transform him into the notorious pirate captain, 'Blackbeard'.

The final costume on display on the Expo floor was that of Blackbeard's daughter, 'Angelica', played by Penelope Cruz in the film.

In addition to these fantastic looking outfits, there were also original props from the movie which helped bring the cut-throat world of the Pirates of the Caribbean to life.

On Stranger Tides on display at Disney's D23 Expo

Included in the collection of movie props were Blackbeard's ship's in bottles (which featured real miniaturized ships like the Black Pearl in the film by the wonder of CGI), crewman Scrum's mandolin, Angelica's weapons and even the Fountain of Youth chalices.

Also up for auction at the Expo was this fantastic 3D skull standee for the fourth movie, which looked pretty cool.

Alice in Wonderland White Knight armour and Mad Hatter battle costume...

Aside from the futuristic Tron costume display, another of the highlights of the Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives exhibit at Disney's D23 Expo this year had to be these fantastic battle costumes from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.

I've already seen many costumes from the movie up close, but I loved seeing these Colleen Atwood designed outfits, especially the White Knight battle armour worn by Mia Wasikowska as the titular 'Alice' when she fights the Red Queen's army and the Jabberwocky at the end of the movie.

You don't often see battle armour made for women in movies, especially someone so petite as Mia, so it was interesting to see that the materials used were mainly faux metal and looked quite lightweight to wear. It's a wonderfully detailed costume and looked very convincing on the big screen.

Johnny Depp's colourful and unique Mad Hatter battle outfit and sword prop was also included in the exhibit.

Guy Williams Zorro TV costumes from the 1950's on display...

Disney's D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center on August 19, 2011, had this wonderful selection of original costumes from the 1950's Disney Zorro TV series worn by Guy Williams, as the titular masked hero and his alter-ego 'Don Diego de la Vega'.

Set during the Spanish Colonial era of California, the masked vigilante dressed in black and favoured the rapier and bullwhip as his weapons of choice.

The cunning Zorro, which is Spanish for 'fox', sported a flowing cape, cowled mask and flat-brimmed gaucho or Cordobes hat.

In the TV series which ran from 1957 to 1959, Chuck Keehne was Costume Designer. Eight episodes of the Disney show were also edited together to make 1958's 'The Sign of Zorro' movie.

The Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives exhibit also showcased these colourful outfits worn by Guy Williams as the foppish nobleman Don Diego de la Vega, who pretends to be the most inept swordsman in California to hide his secret identity.

Also on display were the trousers worn by Henry Calvin as 'Sergeant Demetrio Lopez Garcia' with Zorro's infamous calling card sliced into them

Outfits worn by George J. Lewis and Gene Sheldon in Zorro

Finally, also a part of the television exhibit was the costume worn by George J. Lewis as 'Don Alejandro de la Vega', Zorro's father, and the outfit that transformed Gene Sheldon into 'Bernado', Zorro's mute servant.
